My Background
I am a PPR-certified professional Pickleball Instructor and have been teaching pickleball since 2018 in Palm Beach County, Florida. My background includes teaching varsity tennis at the high school level, playing (and winning championships) in the Palm Beach County Senior Pickleball League, and winning a gold medal in mixed doubles at the Delray Beach Pickleball Classic in 2019.
I am busy teaching clinics and private lessons and have a meetup group of over 1,700 members. My specialty is teaching newbies, beginners, and intermediates, as well as children, and I also coach doubles teams that participate in various local leagues.
I have taught hundreds of people how to play pickleball over the past several years, and my six books bring together the vast amount of knowledge and experience I have gained as a teacher of the sport.
My Teaching Philosophy
I have observed that most people play pickleball for one or more of three reasons: socializing, exercising, and competing. For beginners, it’s mostly the social aspect of pickleball that draws them in, with exercise being the # 2 attraction.
Pickleball can be very challenging, depending on your background in racquet sports and physical condition. It’s a fast-paced sport that requires good eye-hand coordination, quickness, and agility. As you play more, too, you begin to value the importance of technique, tactics, and strategy.
My job as a professional pickleball instructor is to teach you how to play the game and how to improve incrementally over time. I use many time-tested strategies to achieve this, including drills, practice suggestions, private lessons, and clinics with comparable skill-level players.
