Clinics and Lessons

Descriptions of the clinics can be found on the Meetup group website.

PICKLEBALL CLINICS & LESSONS

Pickleball Clinics

Hi everyone, If you want to learn how to play pickleball or improve your skills, a terrific way to achieve this is by attending one of my clinics. Currently, the clinics are held in Delray Beach in my community, but they can be held in any community that allows an outside teacher to come in and teach.

Here are the three types of clinics that I schedule every week throughout the season. They fill up very quickly, so you should sign up as soon as you decide you want to attend one. The schedule of clinics is updated every week on my meetup website.

Joining the group is free, so once you join, look for “Events” and then “Upcoming.” Here, you can choose the appropriate clinic for your level of play. All the clinics are limited to the first four who sign up. With a student-to-teacher ratio of 4:1, you can be assured of the right amount of personal attention for each student.

INTERMEDIATE PICKLEBALL CLINIC

In the INTERMEDIATE PICKLEBALL CLINIC, we drill the various shots: serve, return of serve, dink, drop shot, drive, and lob, and work on doubles strategy.

An “intermediate” is a person who can generally hit forehand drives, serves, and returns with medium pace, as well as dinks, but generally lacks consistency and control (for instance, serves and returns are not consistent and lack depth) and understands the basic strategy and rules of pickleball.

BEGINNERS PICKLEBALL CLINIC

In the BEGINNERS PICKLEBALL CLINIC, you learn the basic ground strokes, including forehand and backhand, the serve, the return of serve, the drop shot, the volley, and the dink. Learn how to play doubles: where to stand and where to move, how to keep score, the rules, and generally how to play the game. We play a game for the final 15-20 minutes, so you know what to expect if you go to one of the parks for open play.

ADVANCED BEGINNERS PICKLEBALL CLINIC

The ADVANCED BEGINNERS CLINIC is for those who have played pickleball and can hit ground strokes reasonably well. We work on improving these strokes with advanced drills and also practice improving your serve, dink, return of serve, volley, drop shot, and overhead smash. We also work on positioning and where to move during the game. Like the beginners’ clinic, we play a few games to learn the tactics and strategies necessary to become better players and enjoy the game.

Pickleball Private Lessons

As with the clinics, private lessons are currently being held in my community in Delray Beach but can be held in any community that allows an outside teacher to come in and teach.

One-on-one Private Lessons There are many benefits of private lessons. You receive undivided, individual attention, and whether you are an experienced player looking to sharpen your skills or a beginner just learning the game, we can work on whatever aspects of your game need improvement.

Semi-private Lessons (two participants) are one of the best ways to improve your game quickly. You receive fully focused and personalized instruction in a group setting with some friendly competition. Semi-private instruction provides an opportunity to build and refine the fundamentals that you will need to improve your overall game.

Private Group Lessons (three or four players) allow you to learn with others while receiving the same level of instruction offered in a private setting. Get together with friends and enjoy a professionally taught lesson at an affordable price. Private group lessons can provide a perfect setting for practice with team members or an opportunity to introduce friends, family, or neighbors to the sport.
